Ginkgo Bibola, Going to stop using it because side affects. Do it gradually or immediately?!

Question: I used it for 2 weeks and it was fine, and now it seems to give me this light headache and it doesn't seem to help me concentrate. I'd be better off without it. I was using a pretty high dosage (120 mg) so I turned down to 60 and I still had problems. I'm going to have to use another herb for something else, so I have to get off this.

Do it over the course of a few days, or just stop using it now?

You shouldn't have any problems discontinuing the Ginkgo at once. If your headaches continue after two weeks, look into some possible other causes.

Typically, Ginkgo may have unwanted interaction with St. John's Wort, Garlic & Vitamin E, Bitter Melon & Hawthorn. Some other herbs are deliberately added to Gingko to enhance its effects, such as Gotu Kola & Ginseng.

I found this article to be quite educational:

That's interesting. I've been taking it for years with no side effects at all. You might want to read this:

I would try a different brand, first. I've had nothing but good things to say about ginkgo biloba since after the first two weeks of taking it.

FYI, I take the TruNature brand (60mg) available at Costco.

It does seem rather odd that it would take 2 weeks to have a reaction... normally a bad reaction happens within a couple days. Huh....

Well in any case, you can just stop taking any herb right away. They aren't like drugs that you have to slowly reduce or you'll have withdrawal from it.
If you're looking for something else for brain health, let me know and I can suggest a few good alternatives.
