Anyone who has taken mucinex?!
Question: Did it give you a stomach ache? My stomach is bothering me, and I think it's the medicine. Should I stop taking it? Or do you think it's just something else? I just took it for the first time today. It worked really well, but my stomach is bothering me. It's not really PAIN, it's just uncomfortable.

The only Mucinex formula that has pseudoephedrine is the Mucinex D. They make 3 kinds, so your adverse effects will vary with the formula you took. Mucinex D is the one most likely to have serious side effects and the one with the most warnings.
Stomach upset is one of the side effects of all guaifenesin products (Robitussin, Humibid, Fenesin). Some people find it is worth the icky feeling to get rid of sinus congestion. Also helpful is to put about 10-15 drops of Eucalyptus oil in a pan of steaming water and hold your head over it, inhaling the vapors (eyes closed). A towel over your head helps to concentrate the vapors.

i too had stomach pain when i tried it and then i felt lethargic so i stopped.
I never had a problem with it. Do other medicines affect you this way? If so it is probably the pills.
I got stomach pains and a racing heart. Took myself to the emergency room and was at 145 bpm. Turns out that both are exacerbated symptoms of sudofedrin. I can't take anything with that stuff in it.
Mucinex is guaifenisen, same active ingredient in Robitussun decongestant. It shouldn't cause a sore stomach, but is possible since it is pretty strong stuff. And, if taken to far from a meal, I can see how that might happen. Just eat something else for your stomach to chew on - something fairly mild though, maybe a poached egg. That should give your stomach a little relief.
before stopping try some milk or food with it the next time , I'm guessing you took it on an empty stomach. If that's not the case then try it for a day or so and if it still bothers you stop and you might call the pharmacist and find out from them as well.
