Is fish oil alright to take for someone who has diverticulosis?!

Question: and acid reflux?

plus, how would you take it?

Answers: and acid reflux?

plus, how would you take it?

If you have acid reflux and you're worried about the fish burp, freeze your pills. But it is safe to take for DV and reflux.

If fish contain mercury, and there are health warnings about them, wouldn't you think fish oil is poison in a pill?

Just some "food" for thought.

I would swallow it

Sure.2-3 capsules a day,after a meal.

Yes, about 1000 Mg. per day. Omega 3. There should be no problem.

ask your doctor. this is the wrong place for that type of question.

Renew Life makes an omega-3 supplement called Oil Smart that you might be able to tolerate. It contains Lipase, an enzyme that helps to digest fats, with flax, borage and fish oils in a softgel.

Or you might try TwinLab's (liquid) emulsified Cod Liver Oil w/ peppermint and take the Lipase as a separate supplement. Start w/ about half the recommended dose and see how your body tolerates it.

Ask your holistic health care advisor for guidance and be prepared for a trial and error process.

Also probiotics and flax fiber can help with the diverticulosis. Read Jordan Rubin's story about overcoming a life-threatening intestinal disease: http://www.gardenoflife.com/way_of_life....
