No, it's not.
It is the safest illegal drug. It is actually being experimented with right now in California on kids with ADD, being substituted with Ritalaine (however it's spelled). Nobody had ever over doesed on Marijuana. It's better for you than most legal substanses.
Here is a site where I got alot of information from

Hope I helped :]

Yes it will dull your brain cells

Yes, people who say it's not that bad are idiots, and obviously smoke it themselves. Marijuana is about 10x worse than cigarettes, kills braincells, and I've never met a pothead who isn't a loser. That says a lot.
- Some people who replied really need to do researchs first.

Oh look! A few pot heads rated down my answer!

someone told me this once a while ago....

how many people do you know or have heard about who have died from lung cancer due to cigarettes? now ask that question about marijuana....

i've heard of many from the first....none from the latter. it is not as bad as it is made out to be.

No. Weed does not do any permant damage. It can temporarily make u feel stupid but that is it. Anyone that says it is "10 times worse than cigs" is retarted. Weed is just a plant so it has no tar or addicting substances in it. It is NOT addicting. If someone does it alot then they just like the feeling. Trust me. I smoked everyday for 2 weeks and then didn't smoke again for 3 weeks and didn't even think about it. Don't say bad things about it until u have experienced for yourself.

Also, no one has died from weed. EVER!!!

It is always best to keep a clear head and a healthy body. Alcohol is the real gateway drug, btw.

Research that I have done indicates that it was legal until the mid '30's. It was not made illegal because it caused any physical harm, but rather a panic was started by a couple of legislators in Louisiana. They propagandized that all of New Orleans was riddled with doped-up, no good lazies and that surely an epidemic would spread like hell-fire across the country. Further, they provided congress with a smattering of newspaper headlines that supposedly proved their plight.
It was met with little resistance, sadly.

Until then, many had farm fields full of the plants which were used for fabrics and medicinal purposes. Thousands upon thousands of virtually harmless plants were confiscated soon after.

What a waste.

I'm 50 and it has never been a gateway drug-- drug HAH i wish they would quit addressing it as that it is an herb, and contrary to what some other people say they haven't a clue about how many people smoke it because a lot of working people including in high paying jobs smoke it. their little minds won't allow them to believe it though.

It's ok. Of course you are a pothead. Only potheads ask questions like that. Yes, it is hurting your lungs and killing your brain cells. Hmmm....

No, it is not. Especially when compared to other drugs and possibly cigarettes(inconclusive results). It sounds like the people who have answered so far do not know what they are talking about. The one that answered that everyone that he/she knows that smokes pot is a loser is just unaware that the non-losers smoke. Many productive members of society smoke discreetly due to judgmental folks like them

Although there are many conflicting studies involving health issues and the effects of cannabis, some conclusions concerning the effects on physical and mental health have been reached.

Today, there is still a substantial amount of propaganda and misinformation from both cannabis advocates and opponents due to the legal issues of cannabis, including legal and political constraints on cannabis research.
