Is there any truth in the saying "feed a cold starve a fever " or is it the other way round i mean scientific!

Question: No, neither way makes good sense. You need adequate nutrition both ways, certainly if you expect your body to have the energy to fight off the illness. Actually, as long as you drink plenty of fluid, you can go without eating a few days if you simply don't feel like eating. I have no idea who started the whole business, but it doesn't have sound a sound scientific basis either way. A person with a fever is fighting some sort of infection, which takes a great deal of energy from the body. You'd need good nutrition to replace what's being depleted. A cold is a viral infection, and often will cause a low grade fever itself. And you really do need to keep eating something if you expect to keep going. As long as you are hungry and able to eat, you should. You may not be up to a seven course banquet, but a little chicken soup never hurt anyone.

Yes, as long as you understand it has nothing to do with food. It simply states that you heat yourself when you are cold, and you take away the heat when you are hot (both relating to being ill).

I think each individual should listen to their bodies to see whats right for them at the moment.
