I'm curious to the answer to this too so I am starring your question.

My friend recently saw a book about this and we were talking about how this could be true. We decided there probably is some validity to it because if you think about how vaccines work-they are injecting you with a live virus in order to make you well or immune to disease. Since urine is a product of the blood, perhaps if you are ill with something, consuming more of it could maybe make your body more immune to it.

I know that people who had been lost without water have drank their own urine and it obviously is not a harmful thing to do. I think that for these therapys, it is only a few drops under the tongue daily.

Since yogis and many Asians have been doing this for thousands of years, this is a great question to ask. Here are a few words I found about it and some links that may help you. Who knows, maybe in a few years it will be the most popular cure in the western world.

"Throughout the civilized world, blood and blood products are used in the medical world without evoking the repugnance associated with urine. We often use prepacked cells, plasma, white blood cells and countless other blood components. Urine is nothing other than a blood product. We see ba-bies being breast-fed and we are not filled with re-pugnance. We drink cow's milk and eat cheese from cows, goats and other animals without a second thought. We eat dairy products in the form of blue cheese (moulded) or as sour drinks such as yogurt and buttermilk, not to mention all the other bizarre things which are considered to be delicacies"

who's your yoga master, R Kelly?

P*## on him.

Um...urine is waste. No healing agent. Crazy. Cuckoo....This is third world country new age crap...er...pizzle therapy. It has been expelled from your body for a reason. This begs the question, shudder, what next??????

Don't know about the overall benefits but I have heard urine will quickly cure cold sores in the mouth.

drinking your own piss for healthy living and longevity. that doesn't sound right.

he must b crazy................

He is an idiot at par with salman rushdi and taslima nasreen who will write any thing and call it a BOOK ..ignore the idiots

It's an old, old practice. But haven't heard that it's ever been tested for efficacy. Know many Indian disciplines advocated it. UGH.

This site has an interesting discussion of various adherents through time. Very interesting article, but still NO proof of ANY effectiveness.
