I want to take Glucosamine and Chondroitin, but the pills are so big to swallow. Does it come in liquid?!

Question: or what brand is the smallest and easiest to swallow?

I don't know where you live but Jamiesons have a 1500 mg wild cherry flavoured syrup that is great tasting. Depending where you buy it (I'm in Ontario, Canada), it can range from about $12-14 for a 350 ml bottle which will last about a month if you take 1 tablespoon/day. It doesn't have Chondroitin in it, but both my doctor and chiropractor told me the Chondroitin wasn't really necessary.....that the Glucosamine taken with Calcium and Vitamin D are the best 3 to take together.

By the way, I have a 12 yr old dog who was having hip problems and the Vet recommended Glucosamine for her. I give her a teaspoon of mine every day and she totally stopped hobbling after about 40 days!

I recommend my patients get their supplements at GNC.
Go to www.gnc.com
General nutrition Center is the largest nutritional
supplement retailer in the US and have many locations
in various countries throughout the world. Their products
have been unbiased tested for quality and efficacy. They have a product I refer my clients to called TRIFLEX. It comes in various forms including powder and liquid. The pill size is shown on outside of the bottle as "actual size." Pills are coated with Chloraseal so it gets slippery when wet and slides well for easier swallowing. It has the perfect 1500 to 1200 ratio and also MSM which is another sulfate that helps keep inflammation down while glucosamine assists the chondroitin in rebuilding the chondrocytes (cartilage cells). Keep in mind if you have never taken been on it for very long, it can take a while to start seeing results. Alone gluc/chon can take 45-60 days, with MSM less than 30. Give it time. You will notice when you don't take it after being on it for some time. I do not recommend taking any form that includes your minerals like calcium. Minerals should be taken separately at night prior to bed and not with food. Calcium should always be taken with magnesium. Magnesium manages calcium and prevents excess calcium from becoming stones or oxalate crystals. Fiber binds and prevents the small molecules of minerals from absorbing that's why best taken at bed and not with food. Gluc/chond you can take during the day with protein based foods so it will absorb slowly. FYI for poster who gives to their dog, it is best to give a pet formula, amount according to weight. Yes it can help pets but too much and certain forms and extra ingredients can be dangerous to your pet and his liver. The liver can become weak from breaking it down and they have various pet forms that work best with their digestive enzymes that are different from ours. The amount of calcium can cause stones and crystals, can cause urinary blockage due to crystals, constipation, bone spurs... Please get a pet formula. Hope this info helps. I know it was more than you asked for but I enjoy educating people on nutrition. Good luck!

most supplement sellers offer 2 or 3 a day G/C tablets and each total dose is the same. the 3 a day are smaller so buy a 3 a day brand and that should solve the issue
