Reflexology question please...should reflexology be painful? If so, how long will the pain last for?!

To the best of my knowledge, reflexology is just pressing certain points on the sole of the foot

I have never had it done but my friend has. She said when they would do the reflexology it was very painful but afterwards she felt a lot of relief.
