Aspirin causes bleeding in a couple of different ways.

Certain parts of our body specialize to handle certain things -- our stomach is specialized to handle hydrochloric acid (the digestive acid), and foods... when we put aspirin in our stomachs (aspirin, by the way, is another type of acid), it can eat through the lining of the stomach, over time, and damage the underlying tissue -- resulting in a bleeding sore on the inside.

It also thins blood by lessening platelate aggregation -- that means the blood can fit through smaller spaces -- so, as the aspirin acid is eating through the stomach, even a small small sore (microscopic), can result in bleeding, because the blood doesn't clot as well.

It causes ulcers.

Aspirin in excess is surely bad for stomach.. pls check your family doctor immediately. thanks.

aspirin is a blood thinner. you can cause a lot of damage over time so stop

internal bleeding. QUIT!!

It means that aspirin is acid and you are chewing up your stomach! It also means that you are damaging your stomach every time you do that. Aspirin can be very dangerous so don't take more than the recommended amount.

Please, check out the link provided in the source list.

It will give you a lot of helpful information not only about asprin's effect on the stomach but NSAIDS as well. It also offers additional information on the subject which could be very useful to you.

Aspirin Stomach upset causes the acid levels to increase.
When your stomach gets upset it produces more acid to help digest and get rid of whatever is causing the problem.
Higher acid levels will burn a hole in the lining of the stomach, causing an ulcer that can bleed.
Some people are sensitive to aspirin and get an upset stomach from it.

Aspirin enters the body through the stomach where it has a neutral charge, this allows it to pass through cell membranes. If you are sure that it is aspirin that is causing your pain, then yes you are taking too much of it. Unless you have been taking tons of aspirin each day for awhile I would doubt that it would cause your stomach to bleed. Stop taking the aspirin, if the pain goes away avoid using it again at heavy doses, if it doesnt, see a doctor, it could mean other problems.
