Yes, acupuncture works on migraines. Questions will be asked to determine what meridian to use. To treat migraines the needles need to stay in for twenty minutes to one hour....the needles are finished when you begin to get restless.....one session of needles equals ten massages. The acupuncturist should also be a herbalist and the herbs that worked best on me was a combination called Three Immortals. It may take several sessions before you notice a difference....but, it works. Usually and rarely does the needle hurt and the body sometimes pulls the needle in deeper or shoots the needle out across the room when the zone is worked on....it's amazing. After two to four sessions you will feel waves of energy flowing through your body telling you that meridians are being opened and your life force is flowing like it should. I never took my clothes off unless the back was worked on....most needles where placed in my head, arms and below the knees. Acupuncture takes time to heal the body....but...it works!

No, of course acupuncture doesn't help with migraines.

CONCLUSION: Acupuncture was no more effective than sham acupuncture in reducing migraine headaches although both interventions were more effective than a waiting list control.

Oh yes of course acupressure works on migrains and many many other pains within the body i practice acupressure on a daily basis to helps keep my body in good shape with this form of treatment one simply learns or goes to a acupressure physican and they simply apply pressure to points that are blocking chi flow through the meridian lines of you body.!!It really does work is is quite fantastic to study and is successful in treating many many problems with just light pressure!!!Right now i am using this technique on TMG for my self with great reliefe of much pain caused by this problem. You should understand of course this is my opion i hope this helps and good luck

My wife and I have had migraine for a number of years, hers are worse than mine, she has it where half the sight goes, where as mine. I only get flashing lights like the filament of a light globe, plus the headaches.
But we have learnt to treat our selves with acupressure and not acupuncture.
When you know you are getting a migraine headache.
There is a point on the mandibles (this is the hinge of the lower part of the jaw that joins the upper part of the jaw).
To find these points place your fingers where you believe the points to be, then move your jaw up and down until you find the join, when you press these points, they will be very tender. Massage these points in a circular motion until the tenderness goes as an extra help screw the muscles of the face up tight and then relax the muscles.
We have been able to get rid of a migraine in less than a minute when caught early enough.
Please give this a try, it will not cost you any thing.
You will find that if it does not work, it will be because you have not found the correct points.GOOD LUCK>
