Aside from diet and exercise, there are some herbs that are very beneficial for maintaining healthy Blood Pressure. The most popular ones are Fish Oil, Hawthorn Berries, L-Arginine, C12 Peptides (from milk protein casein), Bonito Peptides, and Garlic.
HOWEVER, as it's been pointed out, if your Blood Pressure is that high, you may want to use the drugs in addition to lifestyle changes to get the BP down to a healthy enough level first (where you aren't at risk for several health problems). Once your BP is closer to a healthy level, then any of those supplements can help to keep it healthy.

Now, if it's from a Kidney problem, there are several natural products that help with Kidney health. Some of the most beneficial and most popular are Cranberry, D-Mannose, Juniper Berry, Corn Silk, Uva Ursi, and/or most of the B vitamins. Good luck!

Cheerios and oatmeal. Limit your sodium intake too. also hydration is important, and exercise.

Noone is saying your stupid, girl on the couch is right though, that BP is crazy high especially if it's your at rest rate. You may need to take the water pill (hydrochlorothiazide...it should be what the doc gave you) for a while until the alternative methods begin to work as well, then you should be reevaluated to see if coming off the meds would be ok.

unless you want to h ave a stroke, you should just take the meds.....because that bp is ridiculous.....a normal bp is 120 over 80......and even your diastolic is higher than a normal persons systolic

Hun, that is Very High, you need to take your meds. But, while taking your meds, you can also try some other things, such as excercising better, reducing your stress level, and having a better diet. Maybe after doing all of these things for awhile, you're blood pressure will come down on it's own, but you really need to keep your Doctor involved because that high of a blood pressure is very dangerous. Don't stop taking your drugs unless your Doctor tells you too.

there is no natural alternative. If you are not obese, exercise regularly, avoid sodium (ie, NOT just the salt shaker) and it is still high, there is nothing else clinically proven to work to reduce blood pressure.
It is even more critical if you have kidney disease to treat your BP properly, and 180/130 is way too high.

antihypertensives are as "natural" as anything the AltMed crowd will try and sell you. They work on modulating natural bodily processes that cause hypertension in the first place.

flax seed oil everyday, no flush niacin 1000 mg per day, garlic tablets, but be careful, do not go off the meds unless you ask your dr, a liver cleanse and colon cleanse will help also, all can be found at a health food store!! good luck

I wouldn't expect natural methods to help here if your real problem is kidney disease. You have a serious condition don't mess around with it.
Of course exercise and eating less are very important - but that won't help if you are not overweight but is a good idea anyway. Check with your Doc.

If your hypertension is secondary to kidney disease then nothing will help unless you get your kidney problems under control

The only natural suggestion that I can give you is to eat a diet very low in protein, as protein puts stress on your kidneys. Other than that, keep taking your meds.

All of the answers from 6 hrs.ago and beyond have gotten a "thumbs down" point.
why is that?
the ones 5 hrs or less have not.
does that say that someone just went thru and gave thumbs down to all the answers available at that time?
I must give you an answer or I will get another violation notice for not answering, so
here goes.
Honey, take the meds first and get that B/P down fast...then work with the alternative therapies.
