Question: liver enlarged bcoz of side effects of drugs....

Answers: liver enlarged bcoz of side effects of drugs....

Cool the liver down to reduce swelling or a liver that is over worked by eliminating foods that produce heat which are oils, butters, sugars, chemicals and fatty meat. I would call a acupuncturist to asked if acupuncture would work for you....if nothing else a acupuncturist can open the meridians and strengthen the liver to deal with the drugs that you are taking.

No pranic "healing" heals nothing at all.
It is superstitious energy twaddle.

Firstly, please don't think of a cure-think of a treatment instead. Anything that is good for the liver will help it, but even though your liver might shrink down again, it also might not, so keep that in mind.

Pranic healing deals with the idea that energy can be used to treat disorders. Really, though, it's more a matter of faith. It might not help you, but it also wouldn't hurt you, so if you want to give it a try, go ahead and try it.

What claudy_kay said is good-though I'm not sure I agree with the reasons for it. Basically, you really just want to change your diet to both relieve some of the work the liver has to do (for instance, cutting back from your diet as far as possible on oils, processed foods, and meat); and replace those things with the nutrition that your liver can use.

From an herbal standpoint, you can use herbs like Milkthistle, Dandelion, Rosemary, Turmeric, Artichoke and Chamomile. They are gentle on the liver, and they have nutrients in them to both strengthen the liver, and to help it do it's job easier.
Check with an herbalist near you to help you know how much of each/any to add to your diet, and how to do so (if you don't know of one, check the yellow pages in your phone book, or do a search online).

From a general, physical stand point, do everything you can to keep pressure off of your liver. I don't mean pressure on your body, like leaning or laying on your right side (though, trying not to might help a bit).
I mean the kind of pressure that your liver deals with in doing it's job. Stay away from toxic chemicals, including cleaning supplies and cigarette smoke; and if you drink alcohol, stop. The liver has to work hard to clean the alcohol from your system, no matter how little you take in.

Keep the pressure off of your liver, give it the nutrients it needs, and you should see an improvement. It might not be cured, but it can be better.
