What can one do or eat to improve your kidney if you used to drink a lot and now trying to cleansed your body?!

Question: Go to your local health food store and ask for a liver cleanse formula. It will contain Milk Thistle Seed extract for the liver, Burdock root for the blood, Dandelion root for the kidneys and sometimes a couple of other kidney cleansers.

While cleansing, make sure you get plenty of fiber in your diet so everything dumped in the colon goes out quickly and doesn't have a chance to reabsorb. Also plenty of water so what is cleansed from the liver doesn't make your kidneys sick. It also helps to take an omega-rich oil supplement during cleansing: flax oil is wonderful.

Drink plenty of water. Avoid drinking too much tea or coffee. Absolutely avoid sugary drinks & sodas. If you crave sweets, drink fruit juice. If you have kidney disease, don't use a cleanse with juniper berry in it because it's just too strong.

Corn silk tea or Parsley tea are good diuretics. So is roasted Dandelion Root, which is a tasty coffee substitute and good source of Potassium.

Also Natural Vitality makes a good kidney support formula called Kidney Rejuvenator. Read about it here: http://www.petergillham.com/product-line...

No such thing as a "kidney cleanse", despite the bunk the health foods stores will tell you. Besides, drinking (alcohol) does not harm the kidneys.

i would try cranberry juice

Cranberry Juice helps with the Kidneys

Try to find the book "The Detox Book" edited by Nicola Graimes. It offers plenty of practical advice including a 3 day, 7 day and 14 day plan. The recipes are good and easy to prepare and do not require hunting all over town for exotic ingredients.

Very simple and practical approach to cleaning out old toxins.

Kidneys? I don't know. But liver? My Reiki teacher told me to have two teaspoons of Pure honey before bed each night to detox my body/liver and help boost my energy. It took awhile to get used to, but I've noticed a difference!
