Why is sleeping on yr right side recommended in yoga?Spiritual, health or both reasons?!

the nostrils have a unique mechanisium to block one or the other.
Right nostril is connected with the pingla nadi also called surya nadi, as the name suggest it heats the body when flow is through this nostril.
left is similarly connected to ida nadi or lunar / chandra nadi this cools the body.
The body regulates the body heat by changing the flow in different nostrils as required automatically. sleeping on the LEFT side will ensure that right nostril will be open thus heat the body

need expansion that can only be given by heat.

The aorta-the big artery that carries blood from your heart through your body, exits from the left side of the heart and travels down.

You should sleep on your right side to keep pressure off of the aorta.

It is more beneficial / conducive to the pumping of the heart. I can't remember the sequence that the blood moves through the chambers of the heart, but that was the reasoning we were taught in Shiatsu class.
