Whats a medicinal herb plant is it one of the 'natural cures' or also used in hospital medicine.?!

Question: We took a bad road at the turn of the century, in the early nineteen hundreds, when we went from plant-based medicine to chemically-based pharmaceutical drugs. In the 1800s the majority of medicine was plant-based. The reason for change was that there was no profit to be had in plant-based medicine because a person could not obtain a US Patent on the properties of plants and thereby profit from it.

Grandfather Rockefeller took a lesson from the pig-packing industry that sold every part of the pig except the squeal and he applied it to the oil industry and he found buyers for all the chemicals that are the byproducts of oil refinery. The biggest buyer of those chemicals, of course, is the pharmaceutical companies. That was the birth of what has become known as the petrochemical industry and along side it the pharmaceutical industry.

Later the most powerful pharmaceutical companies lobbied to have a law passed that states "only a drug can cure disease" even though, in the whole history of pharmacology, there is not one recorded instance of a drug ever curing any disease. Drugs only treat the symptoms of disease and never go towards healing the underlying cause which in most cases is simply a nutritional or elemental deficiency. Even our own government has told us in official documents that: "All disease can be traced to a nutritional deficiency".

Aloe vera gel.

both..many drugs are derived from plants valium comes from valerian, available over the counter...

Valerian is used as a sleep aid and St John's Wort is used to treat mild depression in German hospitals.

Are you referring to the "aloe vera" plant?

Aspirin, marijuana, cocane from the coca plant, heroin from poppys..the list is huge....

Medicinal plants are never used in conventional medicine. The problem is that they involve using the whole plant, while in all conventional medications, if they are derived from plants, the active constituent has been isolated and purified first.

My best guess, would be natural. I keep an aloe-vera plant in my kitchen for burns, it works wonders. Not sure if used in hospitals, I'm sure not in it's true form, they can't leave well enough alone.

Herb are commonly called God's medicine because they are made by God and not some man made chemical company.
The main stream heath providers are starting to wise up and are using more natural herbs in their treatments because they have less side effects and do as much to cure.
Both man made and natural example is; Asperin. It is made from white willow bark with other chemicals added.

Plant extracts that cure things become medicine.

Plant extracts that don't cure anything become alternative medicine.

:-)

I like medicinal herbs !!!!!!
