I am soooo confused on alkaline/acidic stuff?!

Question: I am soooo confused on alkaline/acidic stuff?

1. do acidic foods form alkaline environment in your body and visa versa or do alkaline foods form alkaline and acidic foods form acidic environment in your body ?

this so biased, some say acidic foods form alkaline and visa versa some say acidic foods form acidic environment in your body and visa versa

2. which environment does Candida thrive in your body : alkaline or acidic? some say acidic some say alkaline

3. eggs said to be either alkaline or acidic! which one? and there are tons of other similar products that "belong" both to alkaline and acidic!

why dont those "professionals" make up their minds on that finallyt?Www@Youqa@Cn

Answers:

professionals should have this straight. It can be objectively tested.

Acidic are those that have a pH of less than 7. (like somach acid, and vinegar) They usually smell strong.

Alkalinic are those substances that have a pH of greater than 7 (like bleach and soap and baking soda). They usually feel slippery.

Did you know that you will die from ketoalkalosis if you eat an entire box of baking soda. Pretty cool, eh?

anyways-The substances pull your bod'y pH towars what they are (acids pull you towards acidity, etc)

The name for this is ketoacidosis (too much acid) and ketoalalosis (too much alkaline)

These are fancy words that mean there are too many "ketones" (or free radicals) of a specific pH in your body.

2. Candida (and all fungal infections) thrive in acidic enviornments.

3. I have never heard about eggs. Just google it and try to find a respaectable site (like webmd or a .org or .edu site)

NIH (nat'l institute of health) or WHO (world health org) also usually have good research about these kinds of things.Www@Youqa@Cn

Acidic food or drinks are materials in aqueous solution they produce Hydrogen ions, alkaline food produce OH ions
Most of natural foods have this materials but it is not concentrated, the body can manage to get use of them, you can get information's on this by doing a search on the Internet, ask your doctor, he will explain that to you.Www@Youqa@Cn

Acidic foods form an acidic environment, alkaline do the opposite.
The most common for each are
acid promoting: processed foods, most grains, most meat, sugar, soda.
Alkaline promoting: fresh fruits and vegatables.

Citrus fruits are a funny exception, because they seem acidic, but they make the system alkaline. I've talked to a couple people about why this is, and I've never gotten anything other than "it's the random exception." Not counting citruses, all acidic foods acidify the body, and all alkaline do the opposite.

Eggs are also a funny one, because the white and yolk have opposite effects (so it basically is neutral). I can't really substantiate this claim, but I think their relative benefit comes from how overcooked they are, so lightly cooked ones would most likely make the body more alkaline, whereas heavily cooked do the acidic approach. Of course, the only way you can get away with undercooking eggs is if you have a very clean source for them which is often difficult to aqquire unless you live on a farm.

The body has a natural ability to maintain it's ph, but since the modern diet has completely shifted to the acid forming foods, this process gets overwhelmed, and the body becomes acidic.

The reason people care about all of this is because it's been observed a lot of conditions thrive in acidic body environments (and have trouble surviving in alkaline ones), including cancer and many bacterial/fungal/viral conditions, such as candida. Hence, the proponents of this school of thought believe that something should be done to shift the body's ph away from acidity. The japanese make water filters that alkalinize the water (and in turn the body's ph), and they've been hugely popular over there for the health benefits they are puported to create. However unfortunately in the west anything comparable is very expensive and the general advice of eat less processed foods meats grains and sugars is probably the best thing you can do unless you have cancer and have a greater need to fix your ph.

Hope that helps, that's about everything I've learned on this in the past few years.Www@Youqa@Cn
