Are there any "tell tale" signs of a good acupunturist?!

Question: Are there any "tell tale" signs of a good acupunturist!?
I have been to lots of bad ones and only a few good ones!. I don't know of anyone else that goes to them, and all of them are certified!.

Eek, that's a hard one!. The system we have over here for certifying accupuncturists doesn't guarantee very high quality, so having a liscence is generally just an assurance you won't get injured by the doctor!.

From my experience I have found the following to be true;
a) Anyone who went to school in china and was trained there tends to be much better since their system is much harder to get a certification with!.
b) Conversely though, race isn't a very good indicator of the doctors quality!.
c) People who spend a lot of money and time decorating their clininc to make it have a nice image and look asthetically appealing tend to be crappy when it comes to actually performing!.
d) All good accupuncturists should have the ability to easily feel chi (although only about 20% of the doctors I've met seem to be able to)!. If you see someone who clearly can do these types of things but is relatively quite/humble/doesn't make a big deal about it, you probably have found a moderately good doctor!.
e) People trained in approaches besides TCM (ie!. 5 elements, CCM) are better!.

Generally your best bet is just to ask around and find someone that knows about this field (which can be a bit hard) and ask for a recommendation!. Depending on what area you're in, I might know someone or I might not!.

Hope all of that helps!
Since accupuncture is much more of an art than a rigid science, the quality of the practicioners will vary immensely, especially since our school system can't really teach the art aspect and they would have had to have gotten it somewhere else!.Www@Youqa@Cn

ask for a referral from someone- what constitutes "bad"- didn't help your condition!? Like everything, acupuncture wont help every condition for every person!.
You might want to look for a OMD (Oriental Medical Doctor)!.Www@Youqa@Cn
