Should I take pro biotics during or after anti biotic treatment?!

Question: Should I take pro biotics during or after anti biotic treatment.?
Answers:
After.. If it's a really long antibiotic treatment (like a few months or more), you'll definitely want to take them during, but at the opposite time of the day as the antibiotics to allow as much time between the two as possible..

When you take an antibiotic, it kills most/all of the beneficial bacteria (probiotics) in your system along with the harmful bacteria, so you need to replenish the good stuff when you're done to maintain optimal digestive health, plus they also play a part in your immune system health.. Typically, your best bet would be to take a higher quantity probiotic to replenish the probiotics quicker.. 4 billion organisms or more should be good and 3 or more strains would be your best bet as well..Health Question & Answer

After and always..

No point in taking it during since the antibiotics kill the healthy bacteria unless you are eating yogurt everyday, there is no problem with that..

I personally feel better via supplements rather than yogurt but you can do either or both..

Good luck..Health Question & Answer

Absolutely.. The easiest, most effective way is to eat yogurts with live cultures (yogurt enriched with Lactobacillus acidophilus)..

While homeopathy negates the need for antibiotics, I'm addressing your question from my nutritional background..Health Question & Answer

During and after.. Taking them while you are taking the antibiotics might seem like a waste, but its not.. You don't wanna give those bad bugs a leg up..Health Question & Answer
