Answers:
Most commonly, if your headache is stress related it's coming from the muscles in the neck and upperback and shoulders.. Stress tends to make you tension all your muscles tightly.. Some simple neck rolls may help loosen your neck or if someone is around that can give you a neck massage that can help also..

For the neck rolls - bring your chin down towards your chest and roll your right ear toward your right shoulder, then roll your left ear toward your left shoulder, and repeat a few times.. Next, tilt your head back slightly and do the same process..

As far as stress goes, just try to relax for a while.. It is often much easier said then done, but slow down and take a deep breathe in, hold for 10 or 20 seconds, and breathe out.. Do a few repititions and it will help you relax.. also - Smile!! If you are every getting angry or down, smile, it automatically gives you a little pick-me-up.. Hope this helps.. If she thinks they are stress-related, then removing the source of the stress would be step number ONE..

If they are because of other reasons, it is supposed to be helpful to keep several sprigs of fresh rosemary in a sealed jar of water in the refrigerator for headache relief.. When you have a headache, you pull out the jar and massage a bit of the rosemary water on your forehead, or put some of the water in a bowl of hot water, hold your head over the bowl, and cover both head and bowl with a large towel--sniff the steam that comes from the rosemary-scented water..

I have not had a lot of success with this method, but some types of headaches respond well to this natural remedy..

However, if the headaches are caused by prostaglandins, which is the most common type of headache younger women get--caused by the fluctuation of hormones around their menstrual cycles--then almost nothing except ibuprofen will work.. You need an anti-inflammatory, not an herb..

Black cohosh, or soy, might be of help regulating her cycle..Health Question & Answer

I'm a big fan of peppermint tea for headaches.. Even if you put some peppermint tea bags, or peppermint oil in a pot of hot water and just breathe in the steam.. That has made some of my killer headaches go away.. Sipping the tea, and breathing in the scent is also amazing for headaches.. also, Bath and Body Works has some nice relaxing bubble baths, and their Eucalyptus Spearmint is especially good for headaches, I've found.. Breathing in peppermint in any way is incredibly helpful, whether it be in lotion form, balm, oil etc.. Incorporate peppermint into some kind of relaxing routine, and that will be great for the headache, and also in relieving the stress as well.. Lavender is also just as wonderful.. They are both such relaxing, soothing herbs......Health Question & Answer
