I tried opium about a decade ago at a reggae festival.. The woman who gave it to me grew it herself and lived in northern California.. She gave me a pea sized amount of a blackish brownish hash like substance and told me to put it under my tongue.. Taken that way it provided a very nice mellow high.. I liked it.. It felt different from marijuana...... it had a different energy to it.. The woman warned me that it was extremely addictive though and that she was completely addicted to it..
