Put leaves and flower of shoe flower in water and thoroughly squeeze it with your hand for some time.. it'll become thick like shampoo drain out what is left n use it as shampoo.. its the best alternative.. u can use green gram powder also to wash of the oil and dirt in hair.. people in Kerala, India have been using this as a healthy hair-wash thousands of years back.. You can shake little grains of absorpent plant matter through your hair and brush it out, which removes the oil.. I forgot the name of it but it can be found in herbal books..
also you can use an egg to "wash" your hair with, if you're not a vegan yet..
