Is seeing a naturopathic doctor worth the money?!

Question: Is seeing a naturopathic doctor worth the money.?
OK, I realize this is completely based upon your opinion, but I'd really like to know if I'm throwing my money away.. The closest registered naturopathic doctor has an initial visit fee of $250 (for an hour and a half).. After that, its about $70-$100 a visit..

I'm at my wits end with my conventional doc treating my anxiety and panic syndrome.. Have you seen a naturopathic doctor.? Would you pay that much for the care they've given, in other words, is it worth it.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
yes, def worth it....a naturalpathic dr can do wonders for you and you will never want to see a conventional dr ever again! know from experience.. i think 250 is average......the one i know charges 500 initial visit but that includes testing and everything to see what is going on.. after that its about 100 sometimes they talk to you on phone or no charge after initial visit! do it....it will be the best thing youve ever doneHealth Question & Answer

No.. Not for your problem..

I would go to a good kinesiologist or a good hypnotherapist, but not a naturopath who doesn't have the necessary knowledge to help you solve this sort of problem..

Wishing you all the best and a speedy recovery from your problem..

$250.? Holy crap - that's really expensive.. Come to me I do the first treatment and exam for $50 and the ones after for about $40, with even a discount if you prepay for 5 times!Health Question & Answer

I've recently switched to a naturopath and finally feel so good about it.. Health Question & Answer

I completely understand your frustration.. Yet, the real question is, "What is the best natural way to address anxiety and stress.?" While your insurance may cover a Naturopathic Doctor, which I would recommend using over a M..D.. for most things, there are also additional options that no doctor will tell you about because it has nothing to do with them and their training..

I know this because of my own life experiences.. In 2005-2006 I put myself through an enormous amount of stress and wound up suffering from PSTD symptoms and Hypo-Thyroid.. The Naturopath was able to diagnose the Thyroid issue and she help me with a more natural medication to temporarily help my body balance itself, but she was unable to provide me with any way to actually fix the root of the problem - so I found it on my own..

If you really - truly - want to take control of your health you should consider doing the following:

1) Try meditation.. This is the best way to slow the mind and bring awareness to the body and your Spirit.. If practiced daily this alone will change your life..
2) Find a place that teaches Classical Hatha Yoga and take at least 4 classes to see if it speaks to you..
3) Try Acupuncture - it really helps reduce stress immediately..
4) Be with Nature.. Don't bring your iPhone or your iPod.. Just simply enjoy the abundant beauty Nature has to offer.. You may just find a new special place for you to go and "get away from it all"..
5) Take control of your health by learning more about the Natural Health options for you.. Don't rely on the insurance companies.. They don't care about you - you need to care about you..

Other great options include: Qi Gong, Tai Chi, and Reiki.. *Note: everyone is different and each of these options will depend on what speaks to you so you should really try them all until you find what you enjoy the most..Health Question & Answer
