What is the difference between homeopathy and allopathy?!

Question: What is the difference between homeopathy and allopathy.?
Answers:
Allopathy refers to traditional medicine.

Homeopathy maintains that an ill person can be treated using a substance that can produce, in a healthy person, symptoms similar to those of the illness.

There is an enormous difference between homeopathy and "Holistic medicine"- which generally refers to treating the cause of health problems with nutrition, lifestyle changes, herbs, chiropractic adjustments etc... Health Question & Answer

Allopathy is anything not homeopathic or energy medicine. Drugs and surgery, treating only the symptoms and not treating the underlying problem (energy imbalance)

Homeopathy is one of the energy medicines where one has to match the frequency of the illness using a repertory to give some clues as to what remedies to look up in a Materia Medica (this is the list of symptoms gotten during a proving of that remedy) most think that the repertory dark print means that is the most likely to work but it is only that symptoms showed up more in the provings than other remedies.

IF you get a clinical book on the most likely to work remedies (top 5 with differentials will work a lot better for beginners for instance)

The first aid homeopathic books is one of those types of books. Great for first aid and acutes traumas by the way. But not as easy for chronic illnesses. Then you need a VERY good homeopath to do a timeline treatment to get through the layers and deal with the chronic illness (takes 2 to 3 years for this process if you get a good homeopath. IF a bad one you will never get rid of the chronic illness IMO.

Herbal and traditional medicines can also be symptoms based and not so good either in that case.Health Question & Answer

Allopathy is the now extinct form of medicine that dates back to Aristotle. It involved balancing the 4 humours with bleedings, purgings etc. It failed to adapt to modern scientific methods, and was supplanted by science based modern medicine

Homeopathy is still practiced in spite of overwhelming evidence it does nothing, and all the scientific advances that have been made since Hahneman invented it in the 18th century. It's 2 main, and as yet unproven philosophies are that "like cures like", and "more dilute is stronger". In spite of claims to be holistic, and "treat the cause" ...homeopathy bizarrely does nothing BUT treat symptoms.Health Question & Answer

Allopathic medicine uses treatments that have been proven effective in randomized and usually double-blind clinical trials.

Homeopathy uses treatments that have been tried for centuries on people who still have an average lifespan of about 40 years.Health Question & Answer
