works , so I was thinking about asking my doctor to put me on the topamax, I get so so sick with a migraine right before my period, and probably 2xs after that, I get them about 3-4 times a month...
Has anybody or does anybody take topamax for there migraines, and if they do how are the side affects.? .?

Taking all kind of prescription pills, will not go to the root of the problem.
They are for the symptoms only.
I had migraines for 20 years or more, I used to take all the pills the doctor gave it to me. But it kept coming back. But I found out that my digestive system was to blame, i had acidity, my liver and gallbladder, was not working properly, and the pills were making the mater worse.
I did a liver cleanse, I took a lot of Probiotics (to restore the friendly bacteria from intestines) and Aloe Vera juice. I worked for me.
Now,, since you have those migraines around your periods, I might be a hormonal imbalance. Natural Progesterone cream and Vitamin B6(100mg) will take care of that. B6, helps regulate the hormones. Vitamin B2 and Magnesium are very good for migraines. Its good to listen to your body, try to find out the real reason of you migraines.

Medicines like this will always be for covering symptoms. There are some good new migraine medicines but it's always better to attack the cause.
The vast majority of headaches come from neck and vertebral problems (which the MDs just discovered too!) And nerves from the neck even have huge effect on circulation through the brain through cervical ganglion in the neck (relay stations for nerves).
A good chiropractor can greatly reduce the number and severity of your headaches. They must be good at upper cervical work.

i'm a long time migraine sufferer.i was taking topamax, but even though it helps your headache, it also makes me nausea. even on a full stomach, you get sick..but you don't have your headache...lolHealth Question & Answer
