Smoking is not that big of a deal, but if we have a recall or something, then what. Part of me understands and wants to be cool about it. But this is way too serious of a situation to shake off. If you saw your co-workers drinking alcohol at a staff party...would you be concerned that they might be drunk at work.?

I don't think its fair to question someone's work ethic because of things they do in their personal time. Not over something like weed. If you saw them shooting heroin, or smoking crack, well, that would be different.

I know many weed smokers and none of them smoke before or during work.

If you're concerned about it, just ask them about it. But if you make assumptions, report them, and were wrong, you could be ruining a number of people's lives if they get fired for it.

I would write an anoymous letter to your supervisor advising him or her to do a drug check on the staff. That would include you too and they wouldn't know it was you.

I'd let it go, I highly doubt it'd be detrimental to their work and if they get caught, just claim ignorance and you're fine. If you're really worried it'll affect their performance then maybe you should talk to them about it.Health Question & Answer

Okay, that is their business and not yours. IF they are not stoned at work then it is no big deal at all, if they are stoned at work then that is a problem, but you should be able to tell if they are high at work, like if their eyes look red and tired or they act funny or something. At many jobs this still wouldn't matter, I don't blame anyone for smoking weed at all, but I completely understand your concern about a recall, or that they may not be paying close attention at work because a lot of people's health at risk with that. I wouldn't say to narc unless you find out that they are high at work, that could be a problem. I doubt they smoke before work, and this is a tough call especially if they have families to support. I wouldn't know what to do, you could just try to find out if they get high at or before work, and if they do, threaten to say something if they don't stop and explain WHY you feel that way. I used to smoke weed frequently and I know how easy it is to space out for a little while and not pay close attention to what you are doing, so I see why this is a concern of yours.Health Question & Answer
