Try boiling a pot of water and then sitting down at the table with it in front of you and then lean forward and put a towel over your head and the pot. The steam will help loosen everything up. You can also get some Vick's liquid vapor and pour it in the water.Health Question & Answer

Your body is dealing with allergies or a bug so fast that the mucous doesn't have time to be dealt with by the lymphatic system. You need more lubrication--so drinking lots of liquids will help unstop you. Most herb teas are great for this--especially ones that promote immune function. There are several at the healthfood store that say they are specifically formulated for congestion or immune system. The yogi brand teas taste the best so you will drink more of them.

In the meantime, drink whatever herb teas you have in the house. At least 16 ounces every hour until you feel relief.

If you have Vitamin C on hand and it doesn't upset your stomach take 3000 mg to start. Then take 1000mg every hour until your bowels become loose. This tells you how much your body is using.

Example. When I feel perfectly healthy 2500 mg will give me loose bowels. when i have a cold it takes about 12,000 for the same result. In tests someone with mono took about 50,000 to get that result.

Keep track of how much it takes and subtract 1000mg. Take that amount the next day.

Avoid those foods which cause mucous while you feel bad--milk, bread, nuts, cheese.

Keep your neck warm. Air conditioning blowing on a bare neck will make you feel worse. Wear socks.

Gargle with warm saltwater. It will sooth your throat and kill germs.

Vitamin A is also important in any lung condition so take A or betacarotene. It is save to take in large doses for a week--25,000-50,000 IU for one week only.

make a steam tent in a pan. Heat the water, turn the fire off and drape a towel over yourself and the pan. Breath the steam in and out as deeply as possible, with the steam as hot as you can stand it for about 20 minutes. If you have any sea salts, put those in. You can add cloves to make also. But you have to really breath in the steam for a long time.
