Answers:
Not really, but you could get sleepy when you don't want to be!
I would suggest trying just one thing for a month so you know what is working (or if you have a bad reaction, you'll know what to quit).
These supplements are generally good for you and help support healthy mood (see your doctor if you are on other meds or if you have severe depression or other conditions):
Fish oil capsules (Nordic Naturals, Carlson, or Spectrum brands, work up to the max dosage, take with food)
B Vitamin Complex (take brands like Solaray, Enzymatic Therapy, or Country Life with food, for stress, sleep and energy balance, it'll make your pee green, its normal)
Holy Basil (New Chapter, Gaia Herbs, or Nature's Way)
SAMe (Jarrow, Country Life, Source Naturals) this is a little more hardcore, its a sulfer (not sulfa) compound
Good luck :) Don't forget yoga, smelling the roses, healthy diet, exercise, exercise, exercise (do something you like) and all the froo-froo stuff because it works for a lot of people...seriously.

Firstly, you don't say whether or not you are on any other medication. If you are taking any meds for depression then you should NOT take St.Johns wort to begin with. Valerian is known as the "natural valium" and is used as a muscle relaxant and sleep aid. It interferes somewhat with the action of the St. Johns Wort but can sometimes be used when under the care of a qualified practitioner.
You should not be taking anything without being under the care of a naturopath and a psychiatrist. Health Question & Answer

Valerian is usually used as a muscle relaxer and to help with sleep. If you need it for that then there shouldn't be any problem. But since you're taking St. Johns for depression I don't think you need to sleep during the day too. Try a lower dose of ginseng ( it's for energy) with the St. Johns. It should perk you up and help smooth out the rough edges.Health Question & Answer

No problem with mixing the two. Try Rescue Remedy available at your health food store. My homeopathic doctor told me to take up to 14 drops under my tongue when I needed it. Works great. Health Question & Answer
