Take a liquid magnesium supplement like Natural Vitality Calm or something similar. This is especially helpful at night.
If you have a friend that can give you a rub down, dilute 30 drops of one of these essential oils in 2 tablespoons of carrier oil like olive oil: either cardamom, clary sage, geranium, ginger, helicrysum, peppermint or rosemary. These all have antispasmodic properties and the last 4 in the list also relieve pain.
There are a bunch of herbs that help relieve muscle spasm. Devil's Claw is specific for your condition but may be difficult to find. Others are Hops, Linden flower, Passion flower, Skullcap, Black Haw, Crampbark, Valerian root and Black Cohosh. If it is nerve related, Vervain is excellent. As these are muscle relaxers, try them when you're at home first to see how they affect your "ability to drive or operate machinery."Health Question & Answer

Both Magnesium and vitamin B-Complex help. I had the same problem a few years ago and since I started taking the B group vitamins it's never come back (maybe just once or twice). Muscle cramping is usually caused by a mineral imbalance in the body but magnesium especially plays an important role... sunlight (vitamin D) also is important.Health Question & Answer
