Should Marijauna be legal, or why not?!

Question: Should Marijauna be legal, or why not.?
Is alcohol more dangerous.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Yes, it should be.

I smoke weed everyday and I have the highest grades in all my classes and I go to school high ALOT. When Im high everything is slower and I have more time to react and think about things. It makes everything better. It fixes headaches, nausea, and alot of other things.

Weed does affect memory, but only while the THC is in your system. Contrary to popular belief, it does not cause long term effects. THC does not cause cancer, in some cases it can stop or slow the progression of cancer and tumors.

When you're high, you're in a better mood, you dont want to fight or cause problems.
The only really bad physical effect is lung problems and that only if you smoke it, if you eat it Ina brownie There are almost no harmful effects. THC does not kill brain cells, that only happens when you smoke it and hold in your hit(you're not getting oxygen to the brain) But smoking is alot quicker and easier. I chose to take those risks and thats my decsion.

Some arguments against it are the side effects, but there are legal perscription drugs that have much worse effects and yet people can go out and get them.

Alot of people are afraid of drugs and thats where all the negative stereotypes about drugs come from.Health Question & Answer

It will never be legal. It may become decriminalized, but that's just because the government is stubborn and needs to still have some control over the American people.

Anyway, the pros greatly outweigh the cons by "decriminalizing" marijuana. There are tons of facts out there that prove that marijuana is more helpful than harmful. And yes, alcohol is far more dangerous than marijuana. This has been debated time and time again, so any sane logical person should know this.

The cannabis plant can save the world. Hemp can be used for paper, fuel, clothing, etc. Marijuana can be used as medicine to help people feel better! It can help people who have aids or cancer to gain their appetites back from the nasty medicines that make them feel like death. It's a shame that so many people look down upon this wonderful, healing plant.

Open your eyes. Decriminalize. Health Question & Answer

YES!!!!!!!!!!!

it should be. but viva le eire... come on.... wtf i have to say that the first couple things you said about marijuana are completely false. Firstly its NOT ADDICTIVE AT ALL. I KNOW FROM EXPERIENCE.... Secondly idfk where you got the idea that it causes alzheimers.. it doesnt. Thats what you get when you smoke out of tin foil there buddy... (and some still say that doesnt even do it becuase a regluar lighter isnt hot enough to burn the foil) And idk what theyre talking about with it being used in gang culture.?.?.?.? If its legal it would probably be used in EVERY culture.... i THINK that they meant that marijuana cant be sold by gang members to provide money for guns and other criminal activities....

so basically. the only thing true they said was that alcohol causes "bloody everything"

and yes alcohol is much more dangerous, and again i know from experience. I have never almost died from smoking pot. But i HAVE almost died from drinking to much alcohol. Talk about a bad time.

plus there is so much info to support legalization that im not even going to bother typing it because it can be found all over the web, and i have posted it many times on this very site.

BTW, it can be legalized. Oh you say its easy to grow.? Guess what its also easy to brew your own alcohol. AND ITS LEGAL. (to a certain degree) as it would, and SHOULD be with marijuana.Health Question & Answer

In a lot of ways. yes. then it can be regulated and it wont be used to find gang culture.
Its more addictive then alcohol and can cause things like Alzheimer's which sounds bad, but what does alcohol cause.? bloody everything!

I say legalize! people will complain "oh the effect it has on people, it would be silly to legalize", well I say " the effect alcohol has on people and that's legal. 2 wrongs don't make a right but there's a lot to gain by legalizing it!Health Question & Answer

I'm a recovering drug addict/alcoholic so I think I have the credentials from personal experience. The hypocrisy in our laws are too egregious to be ignored. 12 years ago I was in possession of "happy pills" (personal use, not distribution) and it was a felony. 10 years ago I was arrested for DWI and it was a misdemeanor. My "happy pills" hurt no one except myself, my DWI was not only a danger to me, but other unsuspecting motorists or pedestrians. So why is it only a misdemeanor.? I'll tell you why because the alcohol lobby in congress is powerful, as well as Big Pharma. Big Pharma doesn't want people procuring their drugs from the street. They could care less that you are addicted to them as long as they are the ones making the money. Recent lawsuits have proven my statement true. The alcohol lobby doesn't want to make it difficult for people to obtain alcohol and thus the penalties are not substantial until it makes headline news. We still have bars or taverns and we know not everyone (in fact most everyone) is bringing a designated driver or calling a cab. I have spoken to numerous police officers on the subject and they all have said that there would be less need for officers if alcohol was taken out of the picture. Alcohol is the number one reason in domestic abuse cases, traffic fatalities, and child abuse/neglect. Yet it is still socially acceptable. I have heard literally thousands of stories of DWI deaths and one (yes, just one) story of a traffic fatality due to marijuana use and even in that case they could not positively determine marijuana to be the aggravating factor. This just proves that if you have enough money you can influence our government to sanction anything. If our government could find a way to legally make money off heroin, crack, marijuana we would be able to purchase them from our nearest convenience store. Health Question & Answer

I think it should, alcohol is more dangerous. Marijuana relaxes you and you still know what you are doing. With alcohol a lot of people do all sort of crazy things. There is a lot more people killed by drunk drivers than by high drivers. with marijuana you don't feel the need to go out and party or be loud, instead you just feel like staying home and chill.Health Question & Answer

I DONT think it should be legal because of the effects and what it does to a person
BUT I DO think it should be legal, because even when illegal, people are still using it.

ALCOHOL IS MORE DANGEROUS but that depends on how careful you are with it.Health Question & Answer

blah blah im so sick of people bringing this up.
Its obviously not going to happen.
If you actually need it other then to look cool in front of your friends, get a medical license. until then this debate is just annoying talk.

And yes, alcohol is much more dangerous.

Health Question & Answer

It will never be legal, regardless of if we think it is safe or not. The government cant tax it because its an easy to grow plant and they wouldnt want compition from those willing to sell the plant for a smaller price with no tax.Health Question & Answer

I believe marijuana should be legal--I am not sure what to think about alcohol though. I believe they can both be very dangerous, although in moderation should be alright. Health Question & Answer

hell yes. so the government can stop imprisoning citizens who are causing no harm to society and are only using a substance that is much less harmful than alcohol or tobaccoHealth Question & Answer
