Does anyone recommend the Tens machine?!
Question: Does anyone recommend the Tens machine.?
I have read that this is a good idea for relief of back pain. Is it safe for someone who has previously had a mild stroke.?Health Question & Answer
Answers:
I recommend the TENS machine to everyone lol. I have degenerative disc disease in my lower back and osteoarthritis in both knees, my dual tens machine works great on both pains.
My hubby was also advised to use one on his lower back due to nerve damage following an accident.
I would seek medical advise with regards to using it who has had a mild stroke.

There are few real risks involved in using TENS. It can be useful for back pain. It might be worth while consulting a physio as to if it would specifically be helpful to your mum, where to apply the electrodes and which machine to buy. There are a lot of poor quality cheap and cheerful machines on the market and also a lot of unjustifiably overpriced ones!Health Question & Answer
My friend used it during labour and it helped for a while, but then labour pain increases in intensity. Another friend has used it for her back pain but it didn't work.
I would ask a doctor or a physio about use after a mild stroke.Health Question & Answer

Yes the Tens machine does work, but you should not place the pads near your heart, and in your case I would not advise you to put them any where near your head.
I think that you will find further instructions in the booklet with your Tens machine.
Good luck Elizabeth
