Is Metoprolol used to prevent migraines?!


Question: Is Metoprolol used to prevent migraines.?
I recently was taking amatriptalyne (sp is off I know lol) and if made me horridly depressed and gain 60 pounds so my doctor switched me to Metoprolol. Is has been working so far besides the dizziness, but I was looking online about it and it says nothing about migraines. Do they prevent it.?Health Question & Answer

Metoprolol is prescribed for high blood pressure,angina,abnormal heart rhythms, to prevent a 2nd heart attack, MIGRAINE, tremors, anti psychotic drug side effects, congestive heart failure and esophagus bleeding.

Cautions: Do not take-if you have asthma, very slow heart rate, heart blockage. Use this drug with caution if you have liver or kidney disease.
