I used to combine it with black tea to drink while I studied. Its nice. It helps you relax and concentrate, but its not too strong. I take it in capsule form now in the mornings before school, but i dont really feel anything. Health Question & Answer
I took it about 5 years ago as a sleep aid. It might have been a placebo effect, but it worked amazingly well for about a month. Then the sleep effects petered out. I tried other brands all without success. I was disappointed.
If you do want to try it, get known brands that sell standardized extracts of kava kava. In herbal stores, it might also be available in the real herb form, which you can make into a tea.

Wretched substance. As another poster mentions, he thought it was banned. It probably will be whenever the bureaucracy gets around to it. The plant is more toxic to the liver than a few years of chronic alcoholism.Health Question & Answer
