New to Sleeping Pills?!

Question: New to Sleeping Pills.?
I have had trouble sleeping since before I was in school. It takes me hours to get to sleep and I'd only be able to stay asleep for 2 or 3 hours.

Now I'm 21 and sick of this vicious cycle. I work third shift 5 nights a week now so I have to force myself to sleep during the day. I wanted to know what is the best sleeping pill that will get me to sleep fast but won't make me unable to work for 8 hours after taking it.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
You can try chamomile tea, which is a mild relaxant. If that isn't strong enough, you can use valerian tea. Valerian is an herb that is similar to valium. However, you should not use it long term.

I am sure that you know this, but working third shift can cause diseases [such as diabetes, for one] because your metabolism naturally needs to sleep at night and be awake during the day. Your body is just not meant to be awake and working all night. If you already have sleep problems the shift you work is just going to make them worse. Maybe you can change shifts to second shift if not day shift eventually.Health Question & Answer

Its so sad that you are worried about not
getting sleep. and that itself gives you sleeplessness.

when you go to bed, just stop warring about not
getting sleep. think about nice things that happened or
any thing that happened during the day/night. Lay down
on your back and just concentrate on a particular thing.
or a small light on the wall. just Focus on the thing and
your eyes get tired and you will not know when are fast
as sleep.Health Question & Answer

be careful with sleeping pills, most cause dependence and do not give you as restful a sleep as you would get without a pill. try breathing exercises or drinking some warm milk before bed.
if not take ambien...it works great and you dont feel drowsy when u wake up if you can be sure you have 6-8 hours to sleep.Health Question & Answer
