Do you think the majority of the plants we see have healing properties?!

Question: Do you think the majority of the plants we see have healing properties.?
i know sage, sweetgrass, cedar, etc. has healing properties, but there are more plants, too.
what do you think.? what other plants do you know of that have healing properties.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
I believe that every single plant has the potential for healing. Just because we may not know about the healing properties of a plant does not mean it it does not possess any.

Even toxic plants can be healers. Its just a matter of dosage, preparation and context. Belladonna is a good example of that as on the one hand it can kill you, but when properly prepared it is invaluable for the treatment of certain types of poisoning and eye surgeries.

Healing plants are everywhere, they are our weeds, trees, shrubs, mosses, vines, perennials etc etc etc.

When I step onto my porch I see Motherwort, Stinging Nettle, Bittersweet Nightshade, Plantain, Enchanter's Nightshade, Burdock, Dandelion, Yellow Dock, Sugar Maple, Cedar, Silver Birch, St. Johnswort, Yarrow, Quaking Aspen, Creeping Charlie and others, just growing wild.

In my back field I find Blue Vervain, Joe Pye Weed, Horsetail, Wild Mint, Goldenrod, Milkweed, Willows, Raspberry, Yellow Sweet Clover, Cat-tails, Herb Robert, Elder, Hawthorn and others.

Walking through the other hayfields I find Alfalfa, Red Clover, Daisies, Queen Anne's lace, and others.

In my forest I see Wild Ginger, Bloodroot, Blue Cohosh, Violets, Mayflower, Basswood, Oak, Spruce, Pine, red Baneberry, Wild Leeks Solomon's Seal, Spikenard, Sarsaparilla, Snakeroot, Wintergreen, Pipsissewa, and others.

When my boyfriend picks bouquets of wildflowers for me, they are herbs. When people complain about the 'weeds' in their gardens...well, those are herbs too!

I honestly can't think of a single plant I have ever met that has not at one time or another been viewed as possessing healing properties. Health Question & Answer

Lots of plants have healing properties, but not all. That's a reason why deforestation is a problem, as well as animal welfare - there are lots of exotic, unknown plants and one (or some of) them could hold the cure to cancer.

Tea tree, Witch Hazel and lemon grass all have healing propeties. also, many of the plants we eat have healing properties! Sprouts, cranberries and garlic are anti septics, nutritionists advise people who are run down or have a cold eat some. There are too many other plant foods with properties to mention... Health Question & Answer

Of course they do. There flowers that they use in medication that can help cancer patients and all sorts. I think that herbs and such definitely have healing properties but you need to harvest and use them in the correct way.Health Question & Answer
