They have put this forward in Australia. It pretty much means that only doctors can prescribe vitamin suppliments. This is horrible because the FDA is a corrupt organization that is pushing out "medicine" that has not followed strict testing protocol (Gardisil, vicodin to name two. (YES Gardisil is HORRIBLE, my younger sisters got the shot, which the doctors gave them without notifying my mom first (because she would have said no) and it made both of them sick and made one of them less resistent to infections)

The FDA needs to be reorganized. It is on the side of the drug companies who, instead of trying to give you something that will cure your disease or illness, want to get you on pill(s) every day for the rest of your life to boost their bottom line. I refuse to take allergy medicines anymore. Instead I take Royal Jelly capsules in the fall to lessen my reaction to pollen in the spring and, when I get a allergic flareup, I eat 1-2 tablespoons of RAW unprocessed honey and my sympthoms disappear for several hours. Natural medicine does work, you just need to weed the real stuff out of the "snake-oil cures". Trust me it is well worth it.

P.S. Most multi-vitamins that you get in the grocery store (or anywhere for that matter) don't do you any good. They come out the same way they went in. Your body cannot absorb them. The best companies out there for vitamins are GNC and Shacklee. Shacklee has better products but GNC is a less expensive second best.Health Question & Answer

There are other countries in the world that have adopted the Codex and some of them have chosen to regulate supplements by requiring a doctor's prescription (Germany is one of the biggest ones), but in and of itself, it doesn't specifically require a limitation of supplements. We typically have customers calling and asking about this specifically every couple months or so... and once every year or so, there's some article that causes an influx of the question.
There's always some new bill before congress or something going through some branch of the government, but ultimately, access to dietary supplements can NOT be removed from the general population... the Supreme Court passed a ruling back in the late 70s or early 80s (I can never remember the year) that says it can't happen.

The last major report that was brought to the attention of the general public was in December, 2006 (S. 3546, the Dietary Supplement and Non-Prescription Drug Consumer Protection Act, also called the
