There is no such thing called winter green, your friend is an idiot. Probably a kid who has never been high and acts like he smokes to be cool.
As far as lacing goes, for the most part its an urban legend. There is however bud dipped in pcp, and bud dipped in heroin. You really have no way of telling if bud is laced until you smoke it, but to be honest I wouldn't worry about it. Laced bud is very rare.
Weed is just weed. Depending on where you live, some strains might be more common than others. Around here, 'normal' weed, just regular potency/strain is Chronic, although I've gotten chron as dank as purp. But a few names of types of weed are
Chronic
Purp (purple haze)
Kush
Hash

I never heard of winter green. It's probably a local term. Maybe it refers to marijuana with crack (like an evergreen with speck of snow on it in the winter.?.?.?)

There is a HUGE amount of misinformation in the cannabis community. Most of it well intentioned but still wrong none the less.
For instance Chronic does NOT mean average weed. Chronic is really, really good weed, also known as dank. Schwag, or mexi-weed, is low grade smoke.

Cannabis normally flowers under a 12/12 photoperiod so can be forced into flowering just by changing the light cycle but with these crossbreeds you can just stick them under the lights and they will automatically start flowering when they are ready.
As far as strains go you have stuff like Violator Kush, Chocolope, G13xHaze, Northern Lights, Hindu Kush, Master Kush, etc.
But just like any business the marketing weenies have taken over and now weed has brand names that don't really mean much other than you might be able to tell if it's in the White family (White Widow, White Rhino, etc.) or if it's a Kush (Indica) or Haze (Sativa).

if you are offered something called primo thats weed laced with coke. No drug dealer in their right mind would lace their weed with anything, unless it is barely considered weed to begin with. They would make much more money selling the coke/heroin/pcp/weed as seperate drugs. Only way I can see someone getting laced weed is if the guy you got it from accidently gave you his personal sack that he laced up for himself.
