Meditations is a completely drug free way of getting ride of any type of congested energy. It is hard to introduce new things and confront people about there pain but it can be done. Meditating helps a person get inside themselves and heal the cause of anxiety instead of suppressing it. There are several ways to practice this.

Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc.

Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI - Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level.

But there are natural ways to do it without medication. There's this strange herb called "St John's Wort" - it is said to be more effective than Prozac. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John's Wort works like prozac. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc.
The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced... you have that "learned behavior" in your mind. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior - Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction... There are several other techniques to help cope them!
Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to....

Go to you local health food store and pick up some Rescue Remedy for her. Its a good homeopathic flower essence that will not interact with meds she might try down the road.

Its nice for you to be concerned for your friend. I'm not sure how you could present it to her except in a way that is honest. Maybe put it in a little sachet-type bag or coin purse and let her know you are worried about her and that she's going to miss having fun and hanging out if she's always worried and anxious over everything.

Good luck :)Health Question & Answer

The BEST Natural Anti-anxiety substance that is legal is L-Theanine. It is a natural Amino Acid extracted from Green Tea. (1 capsule of L-Theanine is equal to 6 -8 cups of Green tea). You can buy capsules of L-Theanine at most Health Food stores and I believe some more progressive pharmacies are selling it now. It is relatively fast acting (works within 45 minutes), Non-Sedating and Non-addicting. It is very SAFE to use. There is a lot of information about it on Google. According to the FDA you can take up to 2400 mg a day. I hope this is useful. Health Question & Answer

Ask her to try deep breathing, yoga and a simple balanced diet. But she should see a doctor if needed! And yes, if you know massaging or Reiki, healing touch, Quantum Touch etc., you could give her a sweet, healing touch or massage.

Homeopathy is literally sweet (sugar pills medicated) and would greatly help her. Health Question & Answer
