Meditation can help lower stress, which will lower blood pressure some

Others are suggesting changing diet -- this will help too
If you are over weight - try to loose a little,
But concentrate on the inches not the pounds,
when dieting weight can go up at first as fat is turned into muscle

Are you really allergic to all meds.? That seems hard to believe.

If you have high blood pressure at such a young age and you are diabetic, you should be following your doctor's advice not asking strangers on the Internet for advice.

Losing weight, increasing exercise, eating less salt, eating more fruits and veggies can all help control blood pressure. Be careful with all these as they can also lower your blood sugar and you may risk hypoglycemia. Again, best to do this with doctor's supervision.Health Question & Answer

The American Heart Association classifies prehypertension when the systolic reading is 120-139 and diastolic reading is 80-89. Stage 1 high blood pressure is 140-159/90-99 and stage 2 high blood pressure is 160+/100+. Anything above 180/110 is called a hypertensive crisis and is considered a medical emergency requiring immediate treatment at a hospital.

I put this out there because you can try a lot of things to get your blood pressure under control, but you need to monitor it closely with your doctor and get "intervention" when you need it. If standard anti-hypertensive drugs are not an option, you should seriously consider trying acupuncture while you are working on "natural cures".

Sometimes a simple lack of water is the reason why there's high blood pressure (HBP). The body usually runs about 70% water, but the brain needs about 85% water. If the brain doesn't have enough water, it will tell the body to tighten up to squeeze what water you do have into the brain in order to maintain normal function. This is why I've never met anyone on a water pill able to stop taking the diuretic, because fundamentally the problem was not enough water in the body. The simple fix here is are you drinking half your body weight in ounces of water per day.? If increased water intake gives you headaches, you need to back off on the water.

A salt imbalance can also lead to HBP. If you don't have enough potassium to balance out the sodium, you get HBP. This is why low sodium diets can help reduce HBP. Try eating a lot of celery. Snack on it all day long. It's basically water, fiber, and potassium in a stick.

Another possible reason for high blood pressure is that your parasympathetic nervous system (PNS) is not strong enough to balance your sympathetic nervous system (SNS). The SNS is responsible for increasing blood pressure, heart rate, etc. The PNS is responsible for decreasing blood pressure, heart rate, etc. To feed your parasympathetic nervous system, you need to eat foods rich in B vitamins such as riboflavin. Anything green and bitter (like kale or chards) would work well here. If you don't like eating green, crunchy, and bitter veggies, then you may want to supplement with Cataplex G from Standard Process.

A congested liver could also be a cause for HBP. Beets and beet leaf in particular can help facilitate the flow of bile through the liver and gallbladder. But if the situation is pretty severe, then Livaplex from Standard Process would be the better way to go.

In addition to garlic, hawthorn is a great synergist with garlic to address HBP.

With any of these suggestions, please consult with your local healthcare practitioner before you engage in them.
