What foods ease or at least don't make acid indigestion worse?!

Question: What foods ease or at least don't make acid indigestion worse.?
I've had really bad acid indigestion all morning, and now it's approaching lunchtime. I have to eat something otherwise I'm useless about mid-afternoon.

What foods ease or at least don't make acid indigestion worse.? I'm not interested in takign any pills, this is the first bout I've ever had like this and just want to be easy on my stomach as opposed to treating it with antacids or anything.

Thanks!Health Question & Answer

If you have acid indigestion it's because your stomach is struggling to break down protein properly. Either you have an excess of acid or not enough. The problem is even an anti-acid will relieve the symptoms of too little acid in the short term but of course actually make the problem worse. Eating a protein free lunch will help you now. To discover if you have too much or not enough acid do the burp test. This means put a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda into warm water and drink on an empty stomach. After half an hour if you have enough or too much acid then you will be burping like crazy. If not burping or only a little bit you know that taking those anti acid pills is making you worse. Either way into order to make healthy, regulated amount of hydrochloric acid you need enough zinc and B6. Chances are you're not getting this from your diet so a supplement will help get you back to good stomach health more quickly - take a good quality zinc with copper supplement - 30mg at night for best absorption and a b complex with at least 20mg B6 in it during the day. This is not an instant fix but after a couple of months you should start to notice the benefits. Make sure your supplements are food form so they work and not synthetic. if you're in the UK check out the site below for supps or go into your local health shop and ask for good quality food form and they'll be happy to help.Health Question & Answer
