is that any good to take stuff like painkillers with coke, juice, milk, fanta or whatever.? Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Some medications can and should be taken with food or milk to avoid stomach upset; a few need to be taken with a fatty food or supplement to enhance absorption. But the bottom line is, in the majority of cases drugs should be taken with water, unless your health care professional advises you otherwise. Drink a full glass of water, because it helps dissolve the capsule or tablet. The water should be cool rather than hot, because the stomach empties cool water faster, which sends the medication to the small intestine and then the bloodstream.

Grapefruit juice is a very problematic liquid to take medicines with, as it can interact in a negative way with many medications. Researchers found that grapefruit juice targets an enzyme called CYP3A4, which is found in the cells of the small intestine. This enzyme has the ability to help break down about 50 percent of drugs currently on the market. If you drink grapefruit juice when taking any of these drugs, too high levels of the medications will enter the blood stream.
