Herbal Tincture Question ?!

Question: Herbal Tincture Question .?
If I bought a tincture from Whole Foods that contains 54-64% "organic grain" alcohol, is it possible to add an herb to that premade tincture and still get the same effects as if I made a seperate tincture from scratch.? I know that is is important to be aware of what herbs I am mixing, but other than that would this work.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
I would suggest making each herbal separate, since you have to strain out the herb. Then, you can mix the correct proportion to the other herbs to make your own custom mix. Otherwise, you will be guessing at best. As for getting the same effects, no I don't believe that would happen. Since the pre-made herbal tincture is, well, pre-made, this would affect the herb that you are trying to add to the mix. The other herb might hinder or delay or even prohibit the breakdown of the new herb to the mixture. Again, my suggestion is to make each individually and then mix, by dropperful to the correct dosage (three drops of this, 2 drops of that) Much more accurate.Health Question & Answer

Yes it would work but like you said be aware of what you are mixing. It can be as low as 40% and still work but the higher the better.
Hope this info has been useful.Health Question & Answer
