It helps so much because your liver has a lot to do with removing toxins from your body. Works great along with dandelion and burdock root too. I take a liver support blend by solaray called Liver blend SP-13. You should try it.Health Question & Answer

I suppose it could help....

How well your liver is functioning/how clear it is of not having a buildup of old toxins in it (the liver can store old hormones for up to a year) has a connection to how clean and clear your skin is. Eczema, pimples, it relates to it.

Now, what milk thistle does isn't so much as clean the liver out as protect the cells themselves from the toxins. Its called a "hepatoprotectant". So it could help some, but if you want clear skin from cleaning out your liver you need to eat things like dandelion greens or take a liver cleansing tea that has things like dandelion root, burdock root, and the like in them.

Overall, juicing is also quite cleansing, apples, carrots, celery, parsely, beets....good juice. If you overdo it you can get a headache, so just back off. also if you have a sugar balance issue I'd be a bit more careful about the juicing. Then you might want to just eat the fruits/veggies instead.

....also, there was a study with milk thistle and either rats or mice. They gave the rodents Death Cap mushroom (which normally kills a rat or person in like a day) and then AFTERWARD gave them milk thistle. The rodents given milk thistle lived, with few to no ill effects, the ones not given milk thistle died. Shows you how well milk thistle does at protecting the liver. :)Health Question & Answer
