What are some natural remedies for mental illnesses?!

Question: What are some natural remedies for mental illnesses.?
I need some "mind soothing" natural remedies. I just ordered some stuff actually called "mind soothe" but I was wondering if there is anyone who uses aroma therapy or anything else that is unusual and if it actually helps. In addition to medication. I am trying to take a little control myself in getting myself to feel better.Health Question & Answer

St. John's Wort is a proven herbal antidepressant. also you can try Valerian root, Passionflower, or Skullcap herbs. They are all relaxing and Valerian root has been proven to be "mind sooothing" as you put it. I wouldn't be surprised that you find once you get that product it has one or more of these herbs in it. Another product that works but is on the expensive side is SAM-e, and if you can find it, tryptophan - although if you want natural tryptophan just eat turkey or drink red wine, or a glass of warmed milk. Gingko biloba helps you concentrate so may be good to add this as well. Just remember that you can't mix the herbal products with a regular anti-depressant, it is one or the other, they interact against each other in your system. Health Question & Answer

Try mood enhancer by coutnry life. They sell it at Whole foods. it's an Omega3 but has a higher dha in it. It really helped with my depression a few years back and i have taken it ever since.Health Question & Answer
