Should I look into anti-depressants? ?!

Question: Should I look into anti-depressants.? .?
I am usually pretty happy, but I notice that I am usually a lot more congenial the day after a stink with the dissociative drug, DXM.

Drugs are bad; I know! (I'm gonna stop using it altogether to preserve my supple mind.)

Ok. So when I use DXM, I am feel very tranquil, pleased, and self-loving. I am a good person doing good things so I think I should feel this way. I do a lot of thinking and realizing when I use DXM.
The day after using, I am generally a very friendly, happy person. I have faced a lot of strife growing up including being shuffled between foster homes, my father's death, and my mother struggling with a rare neurological disorder and alcoholism. Yea, yea, don't feel sorry.

So I guess what I'm getting at is, which is the case:

This drug use is making me as congenial as my personality naturally allows, but this attitude is just usully distracted by some sort of mild depression.
OR
The effects of the drugs are carrying over to the day after in a hangover sort of effect. Health Question & Answer

I personally would stay away from anti-depressants, they made me feel dead. also, you should stop your drug use as that could worsen the effects of your depression or what not. I would however look into some therapy to deal with depression.

Personally for me I liked being depressed more than feeling like a zombie. Anti-Depressants made me lethargic, unable to pay attention, and gave me RLS. also, they made me sicker and disguised the fact that I actually had an auto-immune disorder, and I still felt depressed. They made me gain about 50 pounds to boot.

Therapy in your case sounds good. In fact, I think everyone needs a little therapy. Maybe you should take up yoga or palates. When I was depressed, yoga really made me feel better. Truly, try it.Health Question & Answer

No, I don't think so. Drugs have sort of a layering effect. For example, legal drugs. People get up in the morning and get jacked up on coffee and cigarettes throughout the day. Then come home and drink alcohol to counter the effects of the drugs done throughout the day. Next day, same thing. It's a vicious cycle. I'd avoid the meds, if possible.Health Question & Answer
