Question: Do natural laxatives such as fruit aid in weight loss.?
I have a question about natural laxatives. I researched it and ate grapes, pineapple, and apple juice.
Do I lose more calories than I ate or is this whole laxative business just a way to "go".

Yes and no.
Laxitives will not help you loose fat or lean mass but they will help you purge your guts and you will be slightly lighter from that but look no different.

If you eat a diet very high in fruit and veg but low in protein carbs and fat you will loose weight because your energy out put will be less than your input. It should not be done long term though as you loose lean mass as well as fat.

The best way to loose weight is a carefully balanced diet and exercise.
Pills will not help you. The ones that can by raising your metabolism are dangerous.
Some prescribed meds alter the function of your hypothalamus and supress your appetite thus making you eat less. Others like Xenecal stop your GI tract absorbing fat so you end up poo-ing this horrible red greasy mass and thus consume less fat in your diet. Ultimately they both help you change eating behavior.

I'll bet you aren't overweight at all but are unhappy with your body image. if this is the case rather than weight loss is a better way to change it.Health Question & Answer

Fruit isn't necessarily a laxative. It will add bulk which will help you "go".
Fruit will help you lose weight as long as you don't eat rubbish with it. Fruit should be eaten on its own. Don't have a steak then fruit. As this will keep the fruit in your stomach too long and it will ferment.Health Question & Answer
