Smoking cigarettes makes me more hungry..?!

Question: Smoking cigarettes makes me more hungry...?
people say that smoking cigarettes is supposed to be an apetite supressent .. but whenever im hungry, smoking a cigarette just makes my stomach feel more empty and make it growl more! so now i never smoke when im hungry. i used to be a heavy smoker and smoke probably 2-3 cigarettes an hour, but now my body is like naturally quitting, i dont have the desire i used to have.. i still smoke but only after i eat and i feel full -- theres nothing like a cigarette after you eat and your tummy is full, anyone agree.? anyways, why does everyone need a cigarette to help them feel full, but that doesnt work for me.?.? it makes me feel like sh----t... i never replace food with cigarettes, so will i start to lose weight since i am subconsiously quitting.?Health Question & Answer

My experience has been that smoking suppresses hunger. It kills the taste buds. When I gave up smoking for good, i found that I was feeling more hungry. The food was tasting better & I gained lot of weight within 1 year of giving up smoking. There is no substitute for smoking. I would start smoking again if it was not so dangerous.Health Question & Answer

Hmm, well most women, smoke because not only the nicotine, but just the deep breaths they take. You know, like... Take a deep breath and you'll get through it... But they take the cigarette breathing 'exercises' (if you will), in place of the breathing itself..

Metabolism is an issue in regard to other substances such as nicotine. Nicotine tends to increase the metabolic rate, which is one of the reasons some people gain weight when they quit smoking. However, by stimulating the metabolic rate through other methods, weight gain may not be a threat. Quitting smoking is best for you, so look for other ways to increase your metabolism.

The body utilizes the many complex processes that make up metabolism to facilitate physical function, assist growth, aid in healing and in essence, support life.
