I need to take Hawthorne?!

Question: I need to take Hawthorne.?
What's best.....capsules, extracts, tea, or homeopathy.?

Should I use the leaves, flowers, or berries.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Tinctures made with fresh Hawthorn are far more potent and effective than capsules, teas, etc., because they are basically like taking the fresh herb. Many of the properties are diminished during the drying process. When they are dried and ground into a powder for capsules, even more is lost. Even though one of my friends is a Homeopath, I don't really believe in homeopathy, as it has never worked for me and many others I know.

Flowers, leaves and berries can all be used. In the spring I make a tincture with the flowers and leaves. In the fall I make one with the berries, then I combine the two.

Be aware that Hawthorne needs to be taken regularly (2-3 x per day) for at least 3 months for you to really start noticing any effects.

If you have Hawthorn growing near you, it will be much less expensive for you to make your own tinctures. If you are on a limited budget, you could take the bulk herb as a tea until then. You can purchase quality dried Hawthorn at a very decent price at www.mountainroseherbs.comHealth Question & Answer

Whatever you buy, make sure it's STANDARDIZED extract and in capsule form, not tablets. (Tablets has too much crap added and hard to digest in some people).

Depends for what you're taking it. Hawthorn berry is the norm.
