Restless Leg Syndrome: My husband has it. How can I get to sleep? He already is!?!

Question: Restless Leg Syndrome: My husband has it. How can I get to sleep.? He already is!.?
I know when he snores too loudly I can roll him over and he'll stop - atleast long enough for me to go to sleep. Then I won't hear him over my own! But what can I do about the jerking of his feel and legs.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Does he have medication for his restless legs.? My mother has restless legs syndrome and she is on a medication (I think it might be called Cinemet, but I'm not positive) that reduces her restless legs motion to almost nonexistent levels if she takes it regularly. If your husband hasn't talked to his doctor about that, I'd advise you do so; it can help both of you get more sleep!

I'd also advise that your husband talk to his doctor about his snoring. Sleep apnea is particularly common in men, and it causes loud snoring and can cause brief breathing stoppages during sleep. It's very good to get it diagnosed if there's a chance he might have this, because there are many treatments available and people with untreated sleep apnea generally get very poor sleep quality because their breathing is interfered with at night.

Good luck!Health Question & Answer
