Answers:
Well, they can make you tired... in a sense, cramp bark is a relaxant. It may be that you're more sensitive to it than most people, so you may want to find an alternative.
Personally, I haven't heard of cramp bark helping much with IBS, but I suppose it may help if you cramp a lot. I would recommend you start taking a good probiotic complex (at least 4-6 billion viable organisms from at least 3-5 strains) and a good digestive enzyme complex. That way, you're covering both the front and back end of digestion, which should cover most impacts from IBS (it's really helped both my mother and brother who both have IBS). Some people also get a lot of help from good amounts of fiber in their diet, too.
If that doesn't help enough, I have heard of people with IBS getting benefits from Aloe Vera and/or DGL (Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice) which both help to soothe the stomach.
In any case, I wish you good luck!Health Question & Answer

I'm afraid it is highly unlikely that herbal pills will have any therapeutic benefits for your IBS. Herbal 'medicines' can however cause bad side effects if prescribed incorrectly or rather prescribed by a charlatan who doesn't know what he is doing.

You could try including more fibre in your diet, however some people find this makes their symptoms worse. If you are getting painful spasms, you could try a low dose Antidepressant like Amitriptyline- this sort of acts like a muscle smoother.Health Question & Answer
