Answers:
There are plenty of natural substances which ease depression, without the horrendous side effects and habit forming tendency of pharmaceuticals.

B-6 - 50mg 3 times daily
Zinc- 50 mg daily
Chromium Picolinate - 200 mcg. daily
B-12 - 300 mcg daily
Choline - 100 mg 2x daily
Inositol - 100 mg 2x daily
St. John's Wort - tea - as directed

Eat a diet with plenty of raw fruits and vegetables, and whole grains. Avoid processed foods, alcohol, tobacco, sugar and caffeine, and exercise regularly.

Many people find relief with the simple combination of B-12 (20% of the population cannot properly absorb it from food) and jogging.

I hope you feel better soon.Health Question & Answer

St. Johns WortHealth Question & Answer

St John's wart can help for some but it also causes side effects that are depressing in of themselves, like sexual side effects, weight gain, sleeplessness, anxiety and some say that it often makes depression worse for some, causing thoughts of suicide and social phobia.
Over the county anti-depressants don't address the chemical imbalance in the neuro transmittors in the brain that is causing your depression. That's why we have the psychotropics that actually affect the way our brains produce mood altering chemicals. Everyone reacts differently to these medications and this is why it's important for a professional to monitor use.
also, the depression could be organic or it could be environmental and there are people who are specially trained to know how to assess and treat them.
Left untreated depression is deadly.
I don't know why you think seeing a professional is not an option, but there is no alternative if you aim to treat depression.Health Question & Answer
